The Moroccan Jews used to be the most notorious thugs in Israel.

After the Russians came here, rumor had it the Moroccans had retired from crime and had taken out season subscriptions to the opera.

The Russian Jews here and in Europe have gained notoriety for violence blowing away legions of rivals with little or no provocation. Of course, most people are not up to the rigors of gangland mayhem. So, they take ordinary jobs in the crime industry.

A famous activity is credit card theft. Most Internet firms won’t do business with Israeli or Russian clients to avoid being defrauded. Locally, the banks have resorted to double and triple-checking ordinary transactions.

Aware that the mob had taken over my ISP, I arranged with a manager from Tripoli [one of the pre-Russian employees] to pay my account in cash six months in advance. Although they put me under constant pressure to pay by credit card, this arrangement lasted two years until my sister died. Citing an unpaid balance of five dollars, they took me off the Internet.

My Tripoli friend on vacation, they did everything to extort my credit card information from me. It became apparent to me that none of the clerks had the knowledge to put me back on the Internet. Their talent and interest were to get my credit card details to the mob leaders.
