Brigitte Bardot unleashes colourful diatribe against Muslims and modern France

PARIS (AFP) - Animal rights activist and former sex symbol Brigitte Bardot (news) has unleashed a torrent of venom against modern France, blaming modern art, gay culture, fast food, trash TV, politicians -- but above all Muslim immigrants -- for the country's descent into decadence.
In a new book entitled "A cry in the silence," the 68 year-old ex-actress confirms her reputation as a misanthropist of heroic proportions, interspersing vivid diatribes against most of humanity with elegiac passages about France as it used to be.
Rank these actresses from the hottest to the least hot. Post your top pick to me for the sake of Sweets.

Bridgette Bardot (Joy of Living)
Natalya Bondarchuk (Solaris)
Claudia Cardinale (8 1/2)
Grace Kelly (Rear Window)
Greta Garbo (Anna Christie)
Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady)
Anna Karina (Alphaville)
Vivien Leigh (Gone with the Wind)
Kim Novak (Vertigo)
Monica Vitti (L'Avventura)

Before you vote for one (and one only) famous star, view Natalya Bondarchuck in Solaris (DVD 1972). Anyone who has seen a film by Andrei Tarkovsky has, in a sense, been inducted into a special group of people who have been immersed in his talent for powerful filmmaking. He is also one of the most important directors in the history of world cinema, in my opinion, and his works have attained a certain following that approaches religious proportions. Every Tarkovsky film I've ever seen has simply blown me away. I've felt completely exhausted by not only the philosophical and dramatic power of the piece, but by the aching attention to artistic detail that makes his work visually stunning. His 1972 film, Solaris, is no different.

Bardot Wins Court Battle
Thursday October 21, 2004
French film star Bridgette Bardot has prevailed in a court case brought against her by the host of a radio show. The suit claimed that Bardot referred to the host as "a little jerk." The judge concurred that this happened but that Bardot was provoked by the host and the case did not meet the standards for defamation because of that. Adding insult to injury, the radio host was ordered to pay Bardot's court costs.

She doesn't sound like a very nice woman. As far as rating the hotness of the women, I don't feel I'm entitled to do so. [WINK]

As English is not my first language, I took a long time to define "a misanthropist of heroic proportions." Like the comedian Don Rickles, she hasn't a good word for anybody with only 2 legs. They asked to use her image on the Euros. Somebody must think she is beautiful.[SMILE]
